Addiction treatment is not over once a client completes a residential treatment program. Residential treatment including detox is often the first step of the process, but only one part of a longer journey. Recovery takes time. Clients cannot be expected to turn their lives around overnight. Upon finishing an inpatient or residential program, many clients transition into a partial hospitalization program (PHP) to continue their recovery.
At R&R Recovery, the PHP program is an integral part of the continuum of care. It is here that clients begin to foster greater independence but are still engaged in an intensive treatment program. They reside in a structured living community where they have access to support 24 hours a day in order to effectively manage the challenges they face as they arise.
Benefits of a Partial Hospitalization Program
Just like with a residential program, clients in R&R Recovery’s PHP program are involved in a wide range of therapies, activities, and experiences to help them establish a strong foundation in substance-free living. The program meets several hours per day a few days per week. Clients are able to slowly begin their transition back into the community while having all of the support they need to be as successful as possible.
The structured living community is a safe, substance-free environment where clients develop healthy routines and habits while tackling issues in real time. Clients are not simply thrust out into society before they are ready. They continue to develop the skills, tools, and resources they need to reduce risk of relapse and make healthy decisions.
Clients at R&R Recovery engage in evidence-based, trauma-informed, and holistic treatment modalities including:
- Individual, group, and family therapy sessions
- Mental health care
- Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapies (CBT & DBT)
- Music and art therapy
- Experiential therapy
A Personalized Approach to Care
Treatment plans are tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals. Clients are exposed to many different approaches to care in order to find what works best for them in their current situation. The strategies that resonate most strongly with one client may not be the same as for another client. Working with medical and nutritional professionals, Masters-level clinicians, and other educators and specialists, clients develop essential coping skills necessary for substance-free living. They learn to take personal responsibility for their actions and overcome addictive behaviors.
The PHP program at R&R Recovery is an essential step in the recovery journey and provides clients with the structure and support they need to continue moving forward. It guides the way toward outpatient care and a return to independent living through reinforcing key skills and behaviors.
